Leading With Inner Agility

People crave certainty, not accuracy. As a leader, navigating through transformational changes can be challenging, especially when people expect quick answers. However, the unintended consequence of seeking certainty can lead to frustration and flip-flopping.

Instead, here are five practices to help create an agile mindset shift during disruptive times:

  1. Detach from the challenge to find a solution. Pausing.
  2. Listen from a place of not knowing. Unlearn to learn.
  3. Ask challenging questions to unblock your mental bias. Understand the why.
  4. Lead with vision, rooted in purpose and meaning. Not just objectives.
  5. Create safe-to-fail experiments to spark good ideas. Test your solutions—and yourself

These practices can help you find solutions and create a vision that leads to success. It works for me.
