People crave certainty, not accuracy. As a leader, navigating through transformational changes can be challenging, especially when people expect quick answers. However, the unintended consequence of seeking certainty can lead to frustration and flip-flopping.
Instead, here are five practices to help create an agile mindset shift during disruptive times:
- Detach from the challenge to find a solution. Pausing.
- Listen from a place of not knowing. Unlearn to learn.
- Ask challenging questions to unblock your mental bias. Understand the why.
- Lead with vision, rooted in purpose and meaning. Not just objectives.
- Create safe-to-fail experiments to spark good ideas. Test your solutions—and yourself
These practices can help you find solutions and create a vision that leads to success. It works for me.
